Many Canadian religious are unhappy with their Bishops' "blind obedience" to the Holy Father, reports Canada's The Gazette. A letter to the bishops from the Canadian Religious Conference, which represents 213 Catholic religious communities across the country, asks their Bishops to consider offering full communion to "all marginalized persons, divorced and remarried Catholics, and to homosexuals."
I suppose this story is good news, in a way, that the Canadian Bishops are faithful to the Holy Father. (I understand that hasn't always been the case.) But isn't it sad that a majority of religious would write such a letter? Any comments?
