Listed below are links to weblogs that reference Madonna draws ire of Catholic League:

Comments

Eileen

She is old and can't accept it! Madonna should grow up and act like a mother. Tell God she is sorry, and then take a cue from her popular hit song and take a permanent "Holiday" off from acting like a fool!

G.M. Knowles

I wouldn't doubt that she invited the Catholic League.

Interesting, that she draws the ire of such agitated right wing cooks as the Reformed Confederate Theocrats.

Unfortunately, what she has done is symbolically taken on the god-hood of Christ and Christ's martyrdom, so this must be condemned.

Like similar stunts (the Da Vinci Code comes to mind) notoriety is the spice of the atheists and agnostics.

Fruit salad!

My thoughts... Her little stunt on the cross screamed: "Father, it is finished" (her career, that is).

Jean

Her career is not over for sure. Before we condem her..lets see the content and context of what she is doing not just judge the image we see. I will let you know when I go see her in concert! Doubt it she is making fun of any religious image [not to say she is sinless..then again who is?]but using images to send a message. Isn't that what all art is about????? I still remember the "Like a Prayer" vvideo which was banned in Italy because of the religious images yet the video was about the evil of racism. Sad how we get stuck on images and rush to defend God..as if He needed it!
