Texas Catholics see what they believe to be an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary in a pizza pan. Although I am generally embarrassed by claims like this, and can't help but suspect that the media reports on these stories as a way to scoff at belief in the supernatural and serve up fresh and tasty examples of how Christians are simple-minded, I could not help but be moved at the reverence these people are showing to that image in that pan.
People are hungry for God. The world is crying out for Him. It is beautiful to see people moved to such reverence by the suggestion of an image of His holy Mother.
I suppose one could say that when bishops and priests do not lead people to God and His Holy Mother, they will look for them in a pizza pan.
I do agree that prayer is good, wherever it is offered, and if an ambiguous image leads some people to pray, that is good too.

Unfortunately, the pizza pan has sparked a custody battle over the pan, which you can read about here: Pizza pan Madonna sparks custody battle
It is good that the PTA moms have decided they trust the Archdiocese to do the right thing and so they are willing to turn over the pizza pan. These seem like good people who love God and want to do the right thing.
