It looks to me to be the exact same altar, with the exception of the direction it is facing--either length or width-wise. Is that what you're getting at? Look at the bottom portion of the altar...it's made of the same thing.

For the closet comment I might add: to know the mind of a bishop, simply look at the cathedral he authorizes. Can anyone see a picture of the LA Cathedral and not realize something truly horrible happened? A well-ordered mind cognizant of order, balance, harmony, and the sacred could not have come up with that design or approved of it. (And I usually refrain from open criticism of our bishops.)

The youth are definitely different than Gen Hippie. I see it in the university also. I got my BS in 91, Master's in 94, and working on a teaching credential now, and I can't tell you the improvement in professorship. It's still liberal and socialist, but it's not as radical or communistic.

While I'm a big fan of the new orientation and addition of tabernacle (this is of course, huge), if you look closely at the footing of the altar, it's the same in all the pictures: mangled metal resembling flames(?) or perhaps some other postmodern theme. The table/overflow/altar is the same, just arranged differently.

Just wanted to point that out.

Take a look over at the New Liturgical Movement blog the last pic clearly shows that the altar was set up for ad orientem!!!

I debated about deleting the comments posted above from "Livinghopeinjesus."

I thought that rather than DELETE what they've posted, I'd share with you some of the anti-catholic hate spread at their website.

Here's the quote:

"To ALL Catholics visiting our website, PLEASE click onto the link in our directory column "The TRUTH About ROMAN CATHOLICISM." READ THE TRUTH ABOUT THIS EVIL "CHURCH" AND IT'S EVIL DEMONIC MAN-MADE DOCTRINES BIRTHED AND BREATHED FROM THE PITS OF HELL!!!"

To the COWARDS who posted above under the website as your screen name - I say SHAME on you. You should at least have the courage of your convictions to post under a name where we might respond to you!

check out this. From the LA Congress.

Fr. Martin is a popular author with Loyola Press. His book, "My Life with Saints" has endeared him to many orthodox. It almost seems to me that he is doing a stealth attack, endearing himself to this group (including the Knights of Malta, whom he accompanies to Lourdes), and is readying for some big coming-out statement.

Woah, I can't believe the comment left by "livinghopeinJesus".

Every Sunday on my way to Mass, I pass a Protestant church with one of those digital signs - it reads, "Coffee Service! Catholics Welcome!"

Haha. I bet that Satan has a similar sign posted outside HIS doors too. ;-)

The livinghopeinjesus.com moderator can be contacted via email at stephenbonita@bellsouth.net.
I sent him a brief email challenging the inconsistency with accepting the Bible and rejecting Church authority, which of course gave us the Bible. I highly encourage any educated and well catechised Catholic to read his debasement of the Church and respond to him with reason and charity.

MJ

I sent my email. Brief, but to the point.

Wow, I just got a response from the guy - he says:

Please ask The LORD Jesus to open your eyes and He will, Dear Melissa.

The LORD Jesus loves you and so do we.

Sincerely in The LORD and ONLY Savior Jesus Christ,
Stephen and Bonita Ann Richie
