The "popechart.com" link under Catholic Resources is broken. I assume the domain has ceased to exist.

There are 3 good things about this man:
1. He ain't Mahoney
2. He is one of us. In a diocese that is three-quarters Latino, it was inexcusable to have a non-Latino as our "shepherd". We are tired of being second-class citizens, and we deserve a bishop who reflects the diversity of the community.
3.About the only thing Mahoney didn't get wrong was his compassion for undocumented Americans. Bishop Gomez will continue the tradition of fighting for social justice for those who deserve it most.

Gilbert who decides by race that certain people are more deserving, by race?
he is Mexican and You are Mexican where is the diversity?
illegal aliens by their nature have broken the law, it is a crime. millions of people are trying to immigrate to the US legally why should some be allowed to break the law and cut in line? The Catholic Church does not support law breaking...

Further more Gilbert, I love the fact that LA is getting a new Bishop, reading about Archbishop Jose Gomez background and affiliation with Opus Dei I am hopeful for the LA archdiocese; regardless of Bishop Gomez's race.
