Holy Father is correect and right on target! We have youth today encouraged by their parents to get up at 3:00 a.m., drive to the ice-rink, parallel bars, or diving pool to train as youngsters to be future Olympians. Yet, America completely overlooks its youth's spiritual training. Our young ones ARE our future--let's give them the gift and love of Jesus

I'm glad I found this post. I came back to the Church after 20 plus years away 6 months ago. Lately, the initial spiritual high has worn off and I'm feeling daunted by everything I don't know and everything I should be doing (but don't). I've certainly felt "weighed down" by the Cross lately, not freed by it. I needed that reminder to be joyful in my faith. Life isn't all roses, but it's not all thorns either.
