The Diocese of Phoenix seems to have gone from the worst to the best in regards to bishops. Bishop O'Brien has retired--he was arrested for hit and run; I saw his photo "behind bars" in a number of newspapers--and Bishop Olmsted has taken over. Olmsted has been making a number of orthodox pronouncements, and now has banned pro-abortion and gay rights politicians from speaking on church properties. Any chance we can get this man to take over the LA Archdiocese?
NO! We like him here in Phoenix just fine. :-)

This is great news. I wish more Bishops would have the fortitude that Bishop Olmsted has. Unfortunately too many bishops lack the courage to do it; or just want to be popular with the liberal masses.

While we have a new bishop who appears very promising, the people of Phoenix were lucky to get Bishop Olmsted. We miss him in Wichita.
