Hillary Clinton and her feminist allies are denouncing what they call a "war on contraception” being waged by the Bush administration.
Catholic Democrats need to realize that whatever their feelings about President Bush or the Republicans, the Democratic Party is firmly committed to supporting the culture of death.
It's certainly one of the reason I left the Democratic Party. It's so hopelessly tied with the "reproductive" and Gay rights agenda, that a pro-Life Democrat couldn't stay.

The Democratic Party is THE party of death -and perversion.

Thomistic;
My grandparents are new-deal, Roosevelt democrats whom voted for Bush 2004, strictly on the abortion issue. This was the first, and I'll bet last vote for Replublicans, in their 80 years.
They are the only Catholic democrats I have ever met who have a problem with abortion.
I think it must be stressed that they are 'new-deal' democrats...not the neo-democrats, or more aptly put, the radicalized version.
Unfortunately, my grandparents are not really aware of what the democratic party has evolved into since the 1960's.
Every single other Catholic Democrat I have met, is fully aware of the Democratic party's stance on being fully in support of unconditional abortion. And they are in full support of this stance.
I used to be one of them.
These are the Catholics who are constantly supplanting the teachings of the church, with an entirely new gospel:
The gospel of liberalism.

Is that getting in the way of her war against babies?

- Glad to be here.
Oddly enough, I came to the conclusion that abortion was wrong, strictly on logical grounds. At the time (9 years ago, in my mid 20's) I had a 1.5 year period where I realized liberalism was totally wrong, and abortion was the final issue I addressed, and the most difficult. At that point, I became oriented in the direction of conservativism, but without a definable God.
I had not yet even addressed the issue of Catholicism, which I had given up 12 years prior.

"Catholic Democrat?" No such person can really exist.

"New Deal Democrats." Great way to describe it; used to be one myself, raised by parents who remembered those days. In the 1980s, I was in the Air Force, and my father used to procure and send me absentee ballots so I could vote in my hometown. Being so far away, however, I didn't really know what was going on there, and I ended up voting a "party ticket"---straight Democrat, basically voting blindly. I did this for a few years, then stopped, because I felt that an ignorant vote was worse than no vote at all. When I returned to civilian life and settled in a new area, far away from my hometown, I found the political climate completely confusing. Now it was the Republicans who seemed to be carrying on the New Deal ideals, and the Democrats had become just plain WEIRD. They didn't seem to have a platform at all that I could determine. Another few years passed without seeing me vote, because of my confusion. I spent the time observing what was happening. It wasn't long before I realized that the only way for me to go was Republican. I never have told my brothers (my parents are both long gone); they're all still solidly Democrat, thinking, in spite of what's in the news every day, that the party still has essentially the same New Deal platform, and I can't make them see anything else. We are all cradle Catholics, and my brothers are still staunchly pro-life. I really can't understand how they can reconcile the discrepancy.

As a former Democrat, I finally realized in 1990 that the Democratic party is so committed to the killing of unborn babies that I could no longer belong to this party. For example, the party is solidly behind partial birth abortion - the legal killing of an uborn child inches away from being born alive and well. For the life of me, I cannot understand why any Catholic, or any Christian for that matter, be a Democrat - they are the bulldogs of the culture of death. What will it take for them to see it? To be a Democrat is to follow those who love the darkness and refuse the light.

Unfortunately there are problems with both parties.....Democrats have their stem cells and abortions, Republicans have their unjust war based on deceit, and executions......what great choices for the Catholic voter! The culture of death exists in both parties....in different ways. You can't win----Democrat OR Republican. Chances are you're going to confession either way.
Personally, I'm in favor of a new party--entirely. One that I can vote for without reservation. For now, I guess I'm a moderate Democrat.....I'm pro-environment and think it's important we help out the poor and disadvantaged....and I try to only vote for Dems who are personally opposed to abortion...etc.
Bush may have been elected president.....but he still allowed stem cell research on select embryos.... and the abortions go on......and do we even have to get into his record on the environment??? Yikes!

The intellectual dishonesty of modern politics is never clearer than in the Senate race in Pennsylvania.
In order to unseat Rick Santorum, the Dems will run Gov. Casey's son.
The same Gov. Casey they wouldn't let speak at their national convention because he was anti-abortion.
This degree of political prostitution of honesty hasn't been seen since the pre-Civil War days when politicians would blithely change their positions on slavery for expediency.

Forget the political party allegiances Mrs Clinton's stance is no surprise. Remember she remained steadfast in her pro contraception pro "choice" stance despite Mother Teresa's pleas that she and President Clinton take a pro life stance.
She is another soul to add to the prayer list -only a big grace will change such an obdurate heart.
