There is a five minute video clip of this Mass available through a link at Concerned Roman Catholics of America - the people who set up the donation fund for Fr. Mackin at St. Mary's by the Sea.
The link is in the second post on their homepage.
The video makes things clear.
Post your thoughts after watching.
Sigh. I don't know which is worse; the fact that the "devils" are serving communion, or the fact that it doesn't surprise me anymore. I mean, realistically, isn't every day Halloween for a lot of them? Especially the hiearchy of that particular parish.

I find this disgusting and offensive!! What is wrong with Catholics? I am Catholic and would never attend such a Mass.... We keep letting satan in our churches and then wonder what the problem is.. What happened to our Baptismal promise remember it?
Do You REJECT Satan And ALL his WORKS? You have invited evil into your parish, God help you. The whole thing makes me SICK!!!!!

TOTAL AND COMPLETE BLASPHEMY. God help the parishoners who have been duped. The good people of this parish need to report this matter to the Vatican.

The Vatican needs to hear from all those blogging and watching these actions from around the world....this is a continuation of the test from the devil...he is saying..."this dumb flock...how far can I push the envelope before they finally speak up..." Erosion of the Church will come from within, laity...if you don't speak up now, and, frankly, stop giving money to promote this continuing erosion, it will continue...they only will go as far as WE let them. God bless "Restore the Sacred" from St. Mary's...these people have spoken on OUR behalf...they opened my eyes to fight back for what is good and holy, have they opened yours? Speak up now to help save all parishes from these hypocrisies and abominations...Letters and prayers!

Is anyone sending this info to the Papal Nuncio in Washington?
It is this man's job to keep an eye on things and report back to Rome. Rather than preaching to the choir about Bp. Tod, the time has come to make our voices heard.

How ironic it was that the communion song lyrics were "Open my eyes Lord, help me to see..." when this priest has blinded all of these poor souls.
Posted by: John | Monday, November 06, 2006 at 04:39 PM
What woman in her right mind would dress up as a devil to serve communion?!?!
Idiots.
those poor old folks are probably thinking what is this world coming to?

This is utterly deplorable and sacrilegious!!
I sent a personal email showing my disgust and shock! And, I copied the entire parish email list off their web site as well as sent copies to the Diocese of Orange County, California.
This is truly blasphemous!
I did what I could! And, hope others do the same!!...and, if I knew what email address was for the Vatican, I would send them a copy as well!

It was more than upsetting to watch this "horror show". How can this parish go along with it--like sheep to the slaughter? Are they insane? Have any of them heard about accountability? To top it off, there the priest sits and encourages this mockery of God, without a blink of the eye. What will the afterlife hold for those that through their actions have shown such contempt for the Lord? I would not only walk away from that parish--I would RUN!

Why are we surprised? Cardinal Mahony...enough said...
Posted by: carol | Monday, November 06, 2006 at 08:17 PM
This is a total, sacriligeous mockery of God. A "devil" distributing the Body and Blood of Christ?? A "witch" singing at the pulpit?? I would excommunicate the lot of them starting with the priest, close the church, then have it exorcized because it is obvious there is a demonic presence residing there. A copy of the video should also be sent to the Vatican.

It is the duty of everyone who sees this video to report this to the Vatican and to the bishop. Here is the address for the Apostolic Nuncio to the Vatican:
Archbishop Pietro Sambi
Embassy of the Apostolic Nunciature
3339 Massachusetts Avenue NW,
Washington, DC 20008
We must defend and show Jesus that we care for His "Holy Sacrifice of the Mass".

Tod Brown and Roger the Vatican dodger strike again, so what is new. This is disgusting, but again, what is new about it in this Parish
Posted by: Daniel Gordon | Monday, November 06, 2006 at 09:43 PM
This is absolutely awful, disgusting, sacrilegious and heretical. This mocks the Mass. Heaven help us!

I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen this video. It is tragic that no one stood up for the Faith during this invalid Mass. There is a reason why we don't change the structure of the Mass and don't change the language prepared in the Missal promulgated by the Vatican. Once the changes begin, one more little "innovation" leads the way to what appears to be a pagan celebration of the dead. It is our duty to PRAY for this priest.

I cannot believe this, but it is the sign of the times. We need to pray, pray and pray all the more these days. That priest even said God's name in vain during Mass! Our Lady Queen of the Clergy, pray for them!! Everybody, say your St. Michael prayer EVERY day!!

I just talked to Archbishop Pietro Sambi's office.
Phone no: 202-333-7121
She said the Archbishop has been made aware of the situation, but that she cannot make a statement for the Archbishop at this time. She also gave me an email address:
[email protected]
It's a general email address, flag the email for the Archbishop and they will print it out for him.

I am a member of Corpus Christi as well. I was a lapsed Catholic for many years, like many of my generation born in the '50s and 60s. I'm one of the few I know that have come back, and that has do with Father Fred and his ability to make the liturgy more alive and applicable to real-world experience. But he doesn't stray from the Mass I knew as I kid. He simply adds a few touches that brings the message of the week's Gospel home.
I think the Catholic Church as an organization has bigger problems than an adult dressed in a festive costume for a silly holiday during mass. I wonder if you have the same outrage for pedophile priests and others who have abused their positions of authority.
Posted by: blogmanoc | Wednesday, November 08, 2006 at 08:21 PM
Dear Blogmanoc, I was born in 1968, I don't ever ever remember a mass with the priest dressed as Barney or people dressed as devils, witches or dracula giving Holy Communion , singing in the choir or being a lector! Please tell me where you grew up and what parish you belonged too? Blogmanoc you have to ask yourself the question "Are you outrage over the sex abuse scandals ?" Here is my answer to you. Yes, I have an outrage for sexual abuse scandals and that is why I am outrage with what happened at Corpus Christi parish, Fr. Bailey making a flipant remark about the sex abuse scandals!!! or what Fr. Bailey calls the " misconduct"! Blogmanoc, my advise to you is get the hell out of that parish, educate yourself in what The Catholic Church teaches ,go to websites EWTN, Ignatius Press, St. Joseph Communications, Adoremus Society, they will help you.

I am 63 years old and Father Fred is the first priest that has ever made me feel excited about going to Mass on Sunday. Yes, he sometimes is a little different. But I leave every Sunday feeling like I have learned something from the Gospel and his homily. I don't think there was anything wrong with the Celebration of Mass that weekend only the people with small minds that tried to make it dirty.
Posted by: J | Sunday, November 12, 2006 at 03:03 PM
So J, does that mean without a good homilist
you wont go to Church, you wont read the Bible, scan the internet for
devout readings or occasionally buy a book written by a Saint that will put more fervor in you. I'll bet a rosary is just a decoration
on your rear view mirror too ....huh?
...So your the reason we make excuses for priests like Father Fred?

i have a better suggestion send your complaints to the congregation of the doctrine of the faith in rome they are the ones who get the final documents on who gets slapped down or not, but guess what the head of that new office is Cardinal Leveda a good freind of Tod Browns if fact they vacationed togeather this summer in the islands of hawaii sounds like our Holy Father didnt realize they were best freinds
Posted by: mawter | Sunday, November 12, 2006 at 05:17 PM
better for fr. fred to be tossed into the sea with a millstone around his neck.

I love the idea. We have gay priests serve communion. So why not devils?
