It is so disappointing, to say the least, that the Pope made no reference to the cover up by the Hierarchy in the Church in Ireland of clerical child sex abuse. Bishops mentioned in the Murphy Report on Child Sex Abuse cover up in the Dublin Archdiocese have stepped down bar one, rightly demonstrating the seriousness of the unacceptable cover up culture that existed and still exists as demonstrated by the Pope's ommission. How could he talk about the birth of our Saviour and children and their vulnerable state and need for protection and not give one thought one word of apology, one word of consolation to the people of Ireland. He knows and knew of these atrocities.
