God made music, and God is the source of all talent. Whatever else may be said of them, The Beatles had musical talent.
As I have said in the past, I want to reflect many facets of what it is to be a Catholic. Catholics are real people, and they can enjoy popular culture (so long as such things are not intrinsically evil).
I think it's important for people to see the human side of Catholics, especially Catholics who are faithful to the Magisterium, because it helps people understand that we're not alien entities and that virtue doesn't mean a life without joy or fun.
This song isn't one of The Beatles' most famous tracks, but it's a classic Lennon/McCartney rocker (mostly Lennon) from the Yellow Submarine Soundtrack (and now Songtrack), and I've always enjoyed it. It's the first time Yoko Ono was ever brought into the studio for a Beatles recording (and she was present on every one from that time onward) so this video is a mirror into the beginning of the dissolution of The Beatles, but they didn't know that then.
If you have song suggestions post them in the comments and I'll put them up in the future (if I can find the videos and the song and/or video isn't inappropriate).
Great video...it must be mentioned that The Beatles, particularly McCartney's song, "Let It Be" is truly a marian hymn which very possibly was inspired from McCartney's devout Irish Catholic mother. Paul's mother died while he was a young teenager. The Blessed Mary's fiat, "let it be done unto thee according to thy word"...resonates throughout Paul's song with the lyrics: in my hour of darkness Mother Mary comes to me speaking words of wisdom...Let It Be. Now that's a song worth posting on this site.

We often tell kids we know that living a serious Christian and Catholic life brings (as Christ told us) the greatest joy - that Christ exists not only to help us to eternal life with God, but to help us live the best and wonderfullest life we can on Earth.
A lotta kids actually get that. But sadly, there aren't many adults telling them that these days.
Christianity is serious, but dudn't have to be somber at all.
Good, clean fun is part and parcel of the Christian life - and it's always been my experience that Christians (of all sorts) actually enjoy life more.

I love the Beatles. Too bad, however, that the two who were Catholics--Paul and George--abandoned the faith decades ago. George embraced Eastern religions and after his death his cremated remains were deposited in the Ganges River. Paul has always been my favorite and, in my opinion, the most talented of the 4. I am sure his saintly mum is praying for her son from her place in Purgatory or Heaven. Paul could sure use a big dose of the True Faith to get him through this last leg of his life.

Yay! Beatles! Abbey Road is my favorite album. Maybe some people didn't know that.
Yoko...she destroyed the Beatles.

When I was a teenager, my father thought George Harrison's song My Sweet Lord was about Jesus. I can still remember his surprise when I explained that Harrison was actually a Krishna devotee :o)
